In Ann Arbor today (February 12, 2022) we had a large crowd of candidates for amateur radio Technician class licenses. Among the crowd was a 10 year-old south-paw (like me) taking the exam!
I was incredibly awe-struck and impressed to see a youth with such determination and raw guts take the test. Sadly, his heart was broken when he learned that he did not pass but he is certain to show up again for testing next month.
To make matters even more impressive, this was a dynamic-duo taking the exam. The youth was accompanied by his mother who was also testing for a Technician Class license.
In talking with the youngster and his mother, it was clear that he knew his stuff. We can only figure that the nature of the exam and its environment were stumbling blocks for him.
