To advance the general interest and welfare of Amateur Radio within the community through various programs and activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>General club information:<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>CARS established in 19?? when the two existing Radio clubs in Jackson combined forces and formed CARS.&nbsp; The Cascades Amateur Radio Society (CARS) is a registered 501c3 nonprofit with the IRS. This means that your annual dues are tax deductible as is any donations you may make to the club.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Club License:<br><\/strong>There are 2 FCC issued radio licenses held in CARS name. 1 &#8211; W8JXN and 2 &#8211; K8JXN. The license trustee for W8JXN is Jeff KA8HDY and the trustee for K8JXN is Tim WD8PMD. Any member may use the club call when operating in the clubs name (net control, field day, etc.) as long as the member has a physical copy of the license in hand. After the program, we will hold a short business meeting.&nbsp; While no longer meeting by video conference, the button has been left on the home page so as to facilitate on-the-fly meetings and those who wish to continue to attend meetings remotely.&nbsp; Guests are always welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Board Meeting:<\/strong><br>CARS holds a quarterly board meeting. The first board meeting of the year is normally in February. This is an open meeting and everyone is encouraged to join and participate. Please see the calendar for Details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eating Meeting:<\/strong><br>Many CARS members get together on Friday evenings to enjoy each other&#8217;s company while dining. These gatherings are at a local establishment (currently Alpha Coney Island, Jackson Crossings Mall) in Jackson by 5:00 pm each Friday. Please check into the C.A.R.S. Thursday evening net to make a reservation and to verify the location.
