FCC Licensing Examinations:
The VE sessions (FCC license testing) are held at the Jackson District Library, Carnegie Branch on 244 W. Michigan Ave., Jackson, Mich. 49203
Two forms of identification, one with a photo, are required.
You can bring a calculator, a pen and/or #2 pencil. If you have a smartphone, you must turn it off during the time you are taking a test. Scrap paper will be provided.
FRN (FCC Registration Number) Required: The FCC is now requiring applicants to enter their FRN on the form 605. Using a social security number is no longer accepted. An FRN can be obtained by going to www.fcc.gov/uls and click on “New Users Register” at the top of the page and follow the instructions. Applicants without an FRN will NOT be able to take an exam. Obtaining an FRN is quick and painless.
The VE team will work with applicants to help them obtain an FRN if possible. But it remains that with no FRN, an exam will NOT be administered.
